The Falcons are already going to be shorthanded when they face the Saints this weekend. Deion Jones and Isaiah Oliver were placed on the Injured Reserve last week and won’t be eligible to return until after Week 4, but they could be down an even bigger piece of the team — Drake London. Arthur Smith took to the podium on Wednesday to tell reporters the team will need until the end of the week to know London’s availability.
New(ish) — Arthur Smith said the Falcons will need until the end of the week to know rookie WR Drake London’s availability for season-opener against Saints.

However, London was out in full pads working with the team following the presser, so that is good news.

Falcons fans will have to wait until the injury report drops because his designation will be important — full, limited, etc. London injured his knee in the preseason opener against the Lions after an impressive 24-yard catch and run but hasn’t played since then. Smith did say that London was “progressing” before adding that his work in the coming days will determine his status for the opener.
”We’ll see what he looks like,” Smith said, via D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
That’s a vague statement, but Smith has notoriously kept everything team-related close to the vest. Atlanta will already be underdogs heading into the matchup against the Saints, and being without London will certainly hamper the Falcons’ offense. Let’s just hope this is all precautionary, and London will be full-go this Sunday.
