The Falcons have now made four free agent signings, all of whom are defenders. The latest being Mike Ford, who inked a two-year, $4 million deal with the club, per Adam Schefter.
Browns free-agent cornerback Mike Ford reached agreement today with the Atlanta Falcons on a two-year, $4 million deal. Deal negotiated by Drew Rosenhaus and Oliver Chell.

While the Falcons still need a starting cornerback to join A.J. Terrell and Mike Hughes, nobody should expect that player to be Mike Ford. The seven-year veteran is a special teamer through and through.
In the last three seasons, he’s played 5%, 16%, and 7% of his team’s defensive snaps, respectively, including for the Falcons in 2022. However, he hasn’t played fewer than 72% of his team’s snaps in the third phase of the game.
It’s a facet of the game that is often overlooked, but the best teams in the league always have great special teams units. While Ford is getting a healthy contract to bolster that area, I wouldn’t rule out the Falcons bringing back KhaDarel Hodge too.
