Before the first practice tomorrow, the Falcons placed Kaleb McGary, Matt Gono, and Deadrin Senat on the physically unable to perform list.

The Jason Spriggs signing makes even more sense now that the Falcons offense is down two of its top tackles. Gono had an offseason surgery that is still undisclosed to this point, so his presence on the PUP list isn’t quite as surprising as McGary or Senat. The former had been mysteriously absent for much of the offseason, which could’ve been for any number of reasons, but we know now it had to be health-related. Seant’s shot at making the team, in my estimation, is long, so anytime he misses isn’t conducive to making the final 53-man roster.
The Falcons coaches will surely be asked about the seriousness of these designations tomorrow after practice. Hopefully, the timelines are short for both offensive tackles as the team can not afford these injuries at an already thin position group. If they’re long term, Terry Fontenot will surely bring in another body to compete at tackle.
