The Falcons roster must get down to 53 players today, which means there will be plenty of news for fans. We already have some action on the transaction wire as Aaron Wilson reports the Falcons have cut three players, including one from the 2022 draft class.

Shaffer isn’t even the most surprising release despite joining the team just a few months ago. He didn’t look good in the preseason, and Jake has been adamant about how the Falcons drafted the wrong UGA offensive linemen — he wanted Jamaree Salyer.
Pruitt is the more surprising one for me because he showed promise as a blocker and receiver, while the other tight ends on the roster are less dangerous as a passing threat. This bodes well for John FitzPatrick, Parker Hesse, and Feleipe Franks.
Huntley had a great showing during the preseason, but unfortunately, the running back room is extremely crowded. I still wouldn’t be shocked if Qadree Ollison joined Huntley on the practice squad if they make it through waivers.
