The Falcons lost to the Chiefs, but worse, the club lost two integral starters along the offensive line in the second quarter in Drew Dalman and Kaleb McGary.
McGary went down with a knee injury, which was later revealed as an MCL sprain. His timetable isn’t yet known, but it’s not encouraging that he could miss multiple weeks with the Saints coming to Atlanta this Sunday and the Buccaneers next Thursday.
Unfortunately, Dalman’s injury isn’t great either. According to Ian Rapoport, Dalman suffered a high-ankle sprain and is expected to miss time with a stint on the injured reserve possible, but an MRI will reveal more.
More #Falcons O-line news: Center Drew Dalman suffered a high-ankle sprain in the loss to the #Chiefs and is undergoing an MRI. He's expected to miss time and IR/designated to return is possible. But the MRI will tell the full story. https://t.co/uC86j3iEUU

An IR stint is obviously the worst-case scenario. That would mean Dalman will miss divisional games against the Bucs, Saints, and Panthers along with a matchup against the Seahawks, which could prove critical in a potential NFC Wild Card race later down the road.
The Falcons need Dalman and McGary if they want to kick off their NFC South schedule with a victory, but it’s looking less and less likely that Atlanta is going to have their starting center and right tackle for Week 4 against the Saints.
Hopefully, the MRIs reveal that McGary and Dalman avoided major injuries and will be back in the saddle sooner rather than later.
