The Falcons lost Drew Dalman and Kaleb McGary in Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs, and the former was just placed on the injured reserve, keeping him out for at least the next four weeks. McGary, however, had better luck.
An MRI revealed an MCL sprain. On Wednesday, the Falcons updated that he wouldn’t need an IR stint “at this time,” according to Marc Raimondi.

Losing Dalman is a brutal blow. Losing any lineman isn’t ideal, especially for a group that was returning all five starters from a year ago. Continuity is an underrated aspect of elite units. But missing two could prove insurmountable for a new offense like Atlanta’s.
With the Saints looming in Week 4, Kaleb McGary’s status is something to watch for. His presence would go a long way in jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the NFC South. Though he didn’t practice on Wednesday, the wild man from Washington seems to be in good spirits.
Only name on Falcons injury report is Kaleb McGary, who did not practice. McGary is taking a philosophical approach to his availability this week: "The sun came up, my dog still lets me pet him, it’s a good day to be alive. That’s my official statement."

Meanwhile, the Saints are already expecting to be without their starting center, Erik McCoy, and potentially others. As many as seven players didn’t practice or did so in a limited capacity on Wednesday in New Orleans, including Demario Davis, Alvin Kamara, and Ceasar Ruiz, along with two other starters.
So even if the club is without Kaleb McGary, they could very well hold the health advantage on Sunday. The Falcons rivals are hobbling into this game, fresh off a stunning loss to the Eagles. The Saints have to travel to Atlanta, too. Raheem Morris has to win this game.
