The Falcons own the top spot in the NFC South, with a perfect 4-0 record in the division. Overall, Atlanta’s record sits at 6-3, which is the best start to a season since the Super Bowl run in 2016.
Led by Kirk Cousins, the Falcons offense looks like a top 10 unit, joined by an opportunistic defense. It’s finally fun to watch pro football in Atlanta again, but Vegas doesn’t see them as legitimate threats in the conference.
According to BetMGM odds, the Falcons have the 7th best odds to win the NFC Championship. The Lions are favorites at +220, followed by the 49ers at +450, Eagles at +600, Vikings at +900, Packers at +1000, Commanders at +1100 and Falcons at +1200, per John Ewing.

As the standings currently sit, the Lions own the only first-round bye in the conference with the Commanders as the 2nd seed, Falcons as the 3rd, Cardinals as the 4th, Vikings as the top Wild Card spot, followed by the Eagles and Packers.
If the playoffs started tomorrow, the Falcons would host the Eagles in Atlanta in the Wild Card round. The Falcons have already beaten the Eagles, who look like a very flawed club under Nick Siranni.
The fact of the matter is every team in the conference is flawed one way or another, including the Falcons. Holding a home field advantage in the playoffs is very valuable, so I’m not sure how the Falcons sit behind the 49ers, who don’t even own a playoff spot right now, Packers, Vikings, and Eagles, all of whom will have to multiple road games to win the NFC.
The oddsmakers must not be buying Kirk Cousins’ re-emergence or Raheem Morris’ charisma.
