It’s good to see Matt Ryan on television, and in his latest appearance on CBS Sports, the 2016 MVP gave his early pick for the MVP award this season, calling Lamar Jackson the unquestioned MVP through six weeks. The Falcons great also added even more high praise.
Former NFL QB Matt Ryan thinks Lamar Jackson is unquestionably the league MVP through six weeks and that's not his only belief about 8:
"I really think he's gonna be a 10,000-yard rusher in this league when it's all said & done and I think he's gonna have 50,000+ passing yards.… pic.twitter.com/RtVX60DjrG

Ryan threw for a career-high 4,944 yards, a career-high 38 touchdowns, and a career-low seven interceptions in his MVP season. The recent inductee into the Falcons Ring of Honor threw a touchdown in all 16 games for the first time in his career, the only signal caller to do so in 2016. He also set an NFL record by throwing a touchdown to 13 different receivers en route to his only MVP.
Lamar Jackson is playing the best ball of his career, throwing for over 1,500 yards, running for over 400 and accounting for 12 touchdowns. The Ravens look like the class of the AFC, and nobody should be surprised if Jackson wins back-to-back MVPs and joins a select six legends who have won the award three times.
As far as career achievements are concerned, I don’t even know if what Matt Ryan is saying is that hot of a take. Jackson could easily reach 50,000 yards passing and 10,000 yards rushing. He already has 17,416 passing yards and 5,661 rushing yards in six seasons and six games. He’s thrown for more and more yards per game as his career has progressed, and his rushing is already well on its way.
Injuries are about the only thing standing in Jackson’s way from re-writing the history books as a dual-threat quarterback.
