Following an absolutely back-breaking interception from Desmond Ridder in the red zone that eventually led to a Panthers game-winning drive, Falcons head coach Arthur Smith is mulling over a potential quarterback change for the third time this season.

Falcons coach Arthur Smith said he hasn't made a decision yet between Desmond Ridder or Taylor Heinicke at quarterback Sunday against Indianapolis.
Said they won't bring in another QB or start Logan Woodside.

The Falcons turned away from Desmond Ridder following a concussion scare, but Taylor Heinicke wasn’t much better, if not worse than his counterpart, forcing Arthur Smith to turn back to Ridder.
The third-round pick is 6-6 across 12 starts, throwing for 2,528 yards on 63.8% passing while accounting for 10 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Ridder has also added 193 yards and five scores on the ground while coughing up 11 fumbles. The veteran, who started two games, threw for nearly 500 yards and three touchdowns to one interception in 10 quarters of play.
Arthur Smith is between a rock and a hard place because neither is a very inspiring option — the lesser of two evils. I’d even potentially argue that Heinicke was worse than Ridder.
Either way, Smith might be coaching for his job over these last three weeks, so he better be confident in whoever he hitches his wagon to. It could prove to be a costly mistake if it hasn’t already.
