Falcons make several roster moves ahead of clash with the Eagles

The Eagles won’t be at full strength tonight as they take on the Falcons. Star wide receiver A.J. Brown has already been ruled out, but Atlanta will also be missing a key contributor. Middle linebacker Nate Landman is out, and ahead of the game, the Falcons decided to place him on the IR, along with a couple of other roster moves.

Landman might be the team’s third linebacker, but he saw a lot of the field against the Steelers and was PFF’s fourth highest graded linebacker of Week 1 while seeing 54% of the defensive snaps. His presence, especially against a run-heavy Eagles team, will be sorely missed. Landman will be eligible to come off the IR for Week 6, which means he’ll also miss critical matchups against the Chiefs, Saints, and Bucs.

The Falcons decided to sign Kevin King to the active roster and elevate Dane Cruikshank from the practice squad as well. Both players provide the Falcons with more depth in the secondary; although, I would not expect them to see much of the field tonight unless injury strikes.
