With Grady Jarrett now in Chicago, the Falcons have a massive hole in the middle of their defensive line, and he’s not the only defensive tackle departing. ESPN’s Marc Raimondi is reporting Eddie Goldman has reached a one-year pact with the Washington Commanders.
Goldman spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons retired but came back in 2024 and appeared in all seventeen games for the Falcons, totaling 16 tackles, one of which went for loss, and one sack. It’s far from a massive blow, but a blow nonetheless to an interior defensive line group that is beginning to look incredibly weak.
On the flip side, the Falcons did re-sign one of their own, inking a one-year pact with Ta’Quon Graham, per Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports.Â
Graham was apart of Terry Fontenot’s dismal first draft class in 2021, taken in the fifth round. However, for a brief moment, it looked as if he was going to be a diamond in the rough following a 2022 campaign in which he racked up 34 tackles and eight quarterback hits over 11 games, nine of which he started.
Unfortunately, Graham never replicated those numbers. He’s appeared in 25 games over the last two seasons, totaling 35 tackles, no sacks, and just three quarterback hits.
