The Giants have dealt with a slew of injuries along their offensive line. Andrew Thomas, John Michael Schmitz and Ben Bredeson have all missed time. Thomas and Schmitz have been out for multiple weeks. New York tried out former Falcons Jalen Mayfield, but that didn’t quite work out.
The Giants signed him to their practice squad and elevated him to play against the Dolphins in Week 5, which blew up in their face. The third-round pick literally graded out 0.0 in PFF’s pass-blocking metric.
Now, they’ll try another Falcons offensive lineman. According to Mike Garafolo, the Giants have poached Josh Miles off Atlanta’s practice squad.
The #Giants are signing OT Josh Miles off the #Falcons’ practice squad, sources say. Miles was a seventh-round pick of the #AZCardinals and appeared in 17 games over three seasons with them.

Miles actually made the Falcons 53-man roster out of training camp but was later released and signed to the practice squad.
The 27-year-old was a 2019 seventh-round pick by the Cardinals and played for Arizona for a couple of years, playing both tackle spots. The Giants are in a tough spot because Mayfield was downright horrendous and now they have to put their faith in a guy with only 23 offensive snaps of experience during his career.
