After last week’s loss to the Saints, the Falcons slim playoff hopes vanished, so it is no surprise they are taking things cautiously with their franchise wide receiver. Raheem Morris told the media just minutes ago that Julio Jones will not play this weekend against the Chargers.

Jones has been hampered with this hamstring for basically the entire season. It was clearly bothering him at times during last week’s game, but he toughed it out when the team needed him most. Still, the Falcons came up just short. Now, they are playing this week with nothing on the line but draft position. If the Falcons were to lose to the Chargers, they may bump into the top five draft picks with three games left against the Bucs (twice) and Chiefs.
