Matthews was checked on multiple times during Sunday’s game but hung in there, so hopefully this is nothing serious. As a veteran, missing a Wednesday practice is often a precaution, and Matthews has only missed one game over his entire seven-year career, which occurred during his rookie season. We will know more as the week continues, but losing Matthews against a talented defensive line like the Cowboys would be a monumental loss.
