Anthony Richardson is one of the more polarizing figures in the draft. Some think he could be a superstar, while others don’t even believe he should be drafted until Day 3. I understand both sides. He’s going to need some time to develop, and most fans want an immediate fix. But if there’s one thing the Falcons have, it’s time. This team is still smack dab in the middle of a rebuild. They need to be focusing on a couple of years down the road, and Richardson makes a lot of sense for their timeline, which is why there was never a doubt the Falcons would figure out what he’s all about.
At the combine, Atlanta was one of at least seven times that took time to talk to the Florida quarterback.
Florida standout QB Anthony Richardson will undergo medical testing today in Indy. I’m told he’s met with the following teams – among others – including with several owners as well:#Colts#Panthers #Falcons #Raiders #Ravens#Saints #Patriots@theScore

Of course, the Falcons interviewing Richardson doesn’t mean much. Terry Fontenot and Arthur Smith have not committed to Desmond Ridder as their starter for next season. They have said they will leave no stone unturned, so this is nothing more than simply doing their due diligence. However, what does intrigue me about this is separate reports raving about how Richardson handled these interviews.
Apparently, Richardson impressed everybody, which is not something I think a lot of people expected.

Whether you love him or hate him, his upside is undeniable. Combine that with the way he is performing in these team interviews, and somebody is going to take a shot on him in the first round, perhaps even the top ten. I’m not sure it will be the Falcons, but you’re fooling yourself if you don’t believe it’s possible.
