The Falcons are handing out money like candy this summer. After Atlanta re-signed Jake Mathews to a five-year extension, general manager Thomas Dimitirioff hinted that Allen would be next.
On Monday afternoon, that came to fruition.
Falcons agreed to a 3-year extension worth $19.5 million for Ricardo Allen, per source.

Allen’s relentlessness earned him this contract. He worked his way from the practice squad to a starter in 2015 and has remained a key cog in the Falcons defense ever since. His football-IQ is second to none and one of the main reasons Atlanta rarely gives up big plays on defense.
