The Falcons are in desperate need of players who can consistently pressure opposing quarterbacks, and they’re scouring the free agent market for cost-effective options. Atlanta recently hosted Colts free agent defensive end Kemoko Turay on a visit in free agency, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
The #Falcons, who just announced a couple of additions, including WR Auden Tate, are bringing former #Colts DL Kemoko Turay in for a visit. The 2018 second-round pick had a career-high 5.5 sacks last year for Indy.

Indy acquired Yannick Ngakoue via trade from the Raiders, which means Turay was always expected to hit the open market. Originally a 2018 second-round pick, Turay has been hindered by injuries to start his career but has certainly shown flashes when healthy. He’s coming off of a season with a career-high 5.5 sacks, 22 total QB pressures, and a fumble recovery in 13 games.
It never really came together for Turay, who looked to be quite the ascending player in 2019 before a season-ending ankle injury halted his breakout campaign. He struggled to get back to 100% during the 2020 season then found himself as a fringe roster player by the time the 2021 season rolled around.
He’s been nothing more than a rotational piece along the defensive line thus far in his career, but Turay is young and worth taking a one-year shot due to his upside.
