Most draft pundits expect the Falcons to take one of the top pass rushers, whether that be Verse, Dallas Turner, or Laiatu Latu.
The Florida State product would’ve been a first-round pick last draft cycle thanks to his dominant 2022 campaign in which he posted nine sacks and 17 tackles for loss, but he returned to the Seminoles in hopes of winning a championship.
Many considered him to be the top edge defender at the beginning of the 2023 season. He still turned in a production season, one where he put up nine sacks again but only 12.5 tackles for loss; however, many changed their tune. Most believe Turner is the top prospect at the position.
They all present different skill sets. Turner has the highest ceiling due to his athleticism, but his floor is much lower. Latu is the most technically refined with an array of pass rush moves but limited due to his athleticism.
Verse, on the other hand, is almost like a combination of both. He uses strength and power to pressure quarterbacks, and the Falcons are clearly interested in learning more about the Florida State and Albany product.
