ESPN’s Vaughn McClure has informed us that Austin Hooper is headed to his 2nd Pro Bowl after being named an alternate:
Falcons TE Austin Hooper told me he’s headed to Pro Bowl practices tomorrow with George Kittle of the 49ers headed to the Super Bowl. Hooper was a second alternate. Would be his second Pro Bowl.

Hooper will join Julio Jones and Grady Jarrett after George Kittle made it to the Super Bowl and Zach Ertz’s season ended due to injury. This will be Hooper’s 2nd consecutive Pro Bowl – he caught a 20 yard TD in Orlando last season. Even though he missed 3 games with an injury, he still had one of the best seasons by a tight end in the NFL – 75 catches, 787 yards and 6 TDs. I’m super happy for Austin and hopefully, we can get him re-signed long term on this squad.
