Generally speaking, it’s better to be even-keeled than up and down, never getting too high or too low; however, the Falcons don’t really have the luxury of telling people to relax.
Following a deflating loss to the Steelers, the Falcons turn around and draw the Eagles on Monday Night Football. There are 16 games left in the season. Super Bowl champions aren’t crowned in Week 1, but very few clubs have even made the playoffs after an 0-2 start, and it becomes practically insurmountable to capture a postseason berth when the Chiefs and the possibility of 0-3 loom next week.
It doesn’t help to panic, but pretending the Falcons don’t need to kick up the intensity is asinine. Under Arthur Smith, it would’ve been business as usual in this situation. It was a tired script. Thankfully, Raheem Morris’ team has a greater sense of urgency following the Falcons Week 1 loss.
Morris: The guys have been as is. They're ready to go. You can always see a greater sense of urgency after a loss. #Falcons

Last year, if the Falcons were in this same spot under Arthur Smith, I guarantee the response would’ve been something about downplaying the situation. It wouldn’t have landed well, but Smith would’ve just brushed it off.
It doesn’t really make a difference what the response is either way, but it’s nice to see Morris and the Falcons have some sense of haste early in the season from a fans’s point of view.
