For the most part, free agency is over for the Falcons. They don’t have much money to spend following the signing of Calais Campbell, but we could see a few more smaller signings between now and the NFL Draft. One area that should be addressed is left guard. The current options — Jalen Mayfield, Matt Hennessy, and Justin Shaffer — aren’t inspiring. The Falcons should probably bring in a veteran to compete at the very least, and I was hoping Elijah Wilkinson might return. But that’s no longer a possibility now as he signed with the Cardinals.

Elijah Wilkinson started nine games for Atlanta last season and performed admirably. The loss shouldn’t be felt too much in 2023, however, as long as the Falcons find a capable replacement, which I don’t think is currently on the roster. There are still some options remaining in free agency, and more could become available before the start of the season. The Falcons could also opt to target one in the draft with one of their picks in the first couple of days.
