The Falcons announced on Monday that they would be releasing former Pro-Bowl cornerback Desmond Trufant. Initially, the move saved the team a little over $5 million, but now that it has been announced a Post-June 1st cut, according to Jason Butt of The Athletic, it will save the team over $10 million against the 2020 cap.

However, that extra money can only be used after June 1st, which is when the team will sign their draft picks. They can also utilize it to bring in any late additions right before or during the season.
