The Falcons are less than 24 hours away from finalizing their 53-man roster and completed their final practice on Monday. However, the club dealt with a slew of injuries to some pretty important players who weren’t at the practice.
Drake London, Kaleb McGary, Jalen Mayfield, Marlon Davidson, Darren Hall, Cordarrelle Patterson, and Dorian Etheridge all missed Monday’s practice.
Etheridge’s season is likely over after suffering a serious injury Saturday against the Jaguars as he needed a cart to leave the field; however, the rest should be relatively quick recoveries.
McGary and Mayfield were sick, and the latter still has a lower back injury. Hall is dealing with a personal matter, and Patterson had a regularly scheduled recovery day. Davidson continues to rehab from the same injury while London recovers from the injured knee he suffered against the Lions. Fortunately, Arthur Smith said he feels good about where the USC product is at.
The Falcons’ main goal during the offseason and preseason has been to stay healthy, and by all accounts, the team has avoided serious injury. London will be the one to watch as the Falcons prepare for their regular-season opener against the Saints next weekend. We’ll keep you up to date on the roster moves as they happen.
