The Falcons defense is coming off arguably their best performance of the season, holding the Panthers to 17 points on Thursday night. Just three of those points came in the games’ final 42 minutes. The unit may be soon get some reinforcements too. According to William McFadden of the team’s official site, cornerback Darqueze Dennard is nearing a return.
After probably their best performance of the season, the #Falcons secondary could be getting a boost with the return of Darqueze Dennard. He remains on IR, but Raheem Morris said he's "getting close" to returning. https://t.co/U3f2JRChqp

Here’s what head coach Raheem Morris had to say about Dennard:
“I know Dennard is getting close just from last week studying everything I hear from [team doctor] Marty [Lauzon] and the whole crew, so we’ll see where he is when we come back off this mini bye,” Morris said.
The secondary has undoubtedly been the most significant weakness of the whole team. However, since Morris has taken over, the group has improved each week. With Dennard possibly re-joining the team after ten days off, the Falcons might put together a fairly reliable defense in the second half of the season.
