It was just announced the Arizona Cardinals will be the team featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks In Season, becoming the second team to do so as the Colts premiered last season.
“Last season ‘Hard Knocks’ made an unprecedented leap, documenting an NFL regular season in real time for the first time ever with the Indianapolis Colts,” NFL Films VP and senior coordinating producer Keith Cossrow said in a press release.
“It was a vivid and illuminating look at the life of an NFL team. This season, we are eager to build on that success and go even further with one of the most exciting teams in the NFL. We can’t wait to get to work in Arizona, and we thank Michael Bidwill, Steve Keim, Coach (Kliff) Kingsbury and the entire Cardinals organization for this opportunity.”
The series is supposed to kick off during the second half of the season, picking up around Week 10 and running through the end of the year. This means the Falcons’ Week 17 matchup on New Year’s Day should be highlighted. Furthermore, the Detroit Lions will be featured on the original Hard Knocks, covering teams throughout the offseason and into the preseason. Once again, the Falcons should be featured.
Atlanta is set to kickoff the preseason on August 9th against Detroit, but the two teams are set to have joint practices leading up to the matchup. It should excite Falcons fans that they’ll have an inside look at their favorite team.
