Falcons head coach Arthur Smith has been under fire for his usage of his top 10 draft picks.
Despite Bijan Robinson‘s total touches not being an issue, his lack of involvement in critical situations is alarming. Kyle Pitts and Drake London still aren’t getting enough touches, but some of that can be attributed to Atlanta’s quarterback play.
One star that has got lost in the shuffle is Cordarrelle Patterson, who has been relegated to a complementary role due to the surplus of weapons at Arthur Smith’s disposal.
Patterson, who missed the first part of the season with an injury, has 17 total touches for 79 yards in six games after posting career highs in 2021 and 2022. The influx of Bijan Robinson has diminished his role, but he was quick to remind everyone just what he’s capable of in a cryptic tweet, followed with a highlight.
“Let’s not forget!!!! I really do this (bleep)!!!” wrote Patterson on social media this week, addressing the post to “Whoever Needs to See This!!”

This prompted many Falcons fans, albeit dense Falcons fans, to conjure up some ridiculous theory that Cordarrelle Patterson was also tired of Arthur Smith’s shtick of not getting his playmakers the ball.
In mob mentality style, fans immediately took to Twitter to pile on Atlanta’s head coach to get CP more touches, which was ironic to me. So, you want Arthur Smith to get more touches to Bijan Robinson but also Cordarrelle Patterson? Where are these touches coming from?
The reality is Patterson was directing the reminder at Falcons fans and others on social media who had seemingly forgotten who exactly they were talking to, he elaborated to Michael Rothstein of ESPN, even backing his head coach.
Asked Cordarrelle Patterson about posting this — here is his response. https://t.co/4LSoHgaZ7T pic.twitter.com/njLfazNNNd
