The Falcons received some fantastic news regarding one of their most significant free agent acquisitions from this past offseason. Six-time Pro Bowler Calais Campbell has passed his physical and is no longer on the PUP list.

At 36-years-old and likely headed to the Hall-of-Fame when his career is over, Campbell’s presence on the field during training camp and the preseason is not as necessary as it is for most players. The Falcons just need to make sure he’s ready for Week 1 against the Panthers a month from now.
Calais Campbell is poised to be a massive factor along the Falcons revamped defensive line. For the first time in several years, Grady Jarrett will have some worthwhile running mates. Campbell joins Bud Dupree and David Onyemata as the most recent crop of free agents to join the Falcons, hoping to fix a pass rush that has virtually been non-existent since the team went to the postseason back in 2017.
