The Falcons made another signing on Wednesday, bringing back veteran tight end Luke Stocker.
Update: Luke Stocker is expected to sign with the #Falcons, source said. So both Jernigan and Stocker are slated to land jobs https://t.co/uovOA3SnA7

Stocker appeared in 15 games for the Falcons last year, catching eight balls for 53 yards, which tells you that’s not why they re-signed him. He’s primarily a blocking tight end and can also play some fullback — something beneficial, with Keith Smith still on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
This is a quality signing that strengthens the Falcons backup tight end situation behind Hayden Hurst. Stocker will battle for reps as the TE2 with the likes of Jaeden Graham and Khari Lee. We will see what this means for Jared Pinkney, one of this year’s most highly-valued undrafted free agents out of Vanderbilt.
