Maybe not the name everyone was hoping for, but it looks like Atlanta is attempting to bolster their linebacking core.
OLB Brandon Copeland has free agent visits planned with Giants and Falcons, per @mikerothstein
Copeland is a former Jet and Patriot. He's recovering from a torn pectoral suffered last October with NE.

Copeland isn’t necessarily a bad player, but he’s kind of an odd target at this point in the process. However, Atlanta does need depth on the roster. The Falcons have already signed Erik Harris to help fill the multiple holes at safety, and Copeland would likely do the same at EDGE. Not every hire is going to be an elite player, and his versatility can play a role in Dean Pees’ defense.
Copeland wasn’t very good in coverage, but he was decent against the run and rushing the passer in six games before injuries ended his 2020 season. Copeland is only 29, and he has seven sacks in 66 career games. His 2018 season with the Jets was probably his peak; he was one of the better coverage linebackers in the league and made ten starts while notching five of his seven career sacks.
I don’t get the interest thus far, but Saints fans probably said the same thing when Terry Fontenot found DeMario Davis. Hopefully, we get some bigger names than this, as safety, edge rusher, cornerback, backup quarterback, offensive line, and running back are still pressing needs.
