There were a couple of good nuggets in Arthur Blank’s press conference, and Jason Butt asked the question that all Falcons fans were wondering about.
Arthur Blank's philosophy with the Falcons' roster moving forward when asked about Matt Ryan and Julio Jones: You can not hire the best people possible and then tie their hands. "However that affects certain players, that affects certain players."

The pointed question from @JasonHButt: Does Blank want Julio and Ryan to be included in the next regime's plans?
Blank says yes, but said how they're in those plans is up to the next GM. Says you can't tie someone's hands by saying "you have to keep this player"

Sort of a canned answer, but nonetheless it casts a bit of a cloud on the future of the two greatest players in franchise history. It’s encouraging to see that Blank (and hopefully Rich McKay) are leaning towards a laissez faire approach when handling the roster. Arthur Blank or Rich McKay has had the final say with these decisions at times, and for better or worse — it’s unattractive to GM & Head Coach candidates. We’ll have to keep playing the waiting game to see who Atlanta hires as General Manager, but the report from Christmas was that Rick Smith is the frontrunner.
