A few minutes ago, the Falcons announced that their home games in September will take place with no fans.
Our home games at @MBStadium will be played without fans through September.

This news comes less than a month after The Athletic reported that the Falcons were hoping to have 10,000 to 20,000 fans at games this year. Now, less than a month away from the first scheduled game, that looks like a pipe dream.
With this decision, only two Falcons home games have been canceled — the season opener against Seattle and Week 3 against the Chicago Bears. However, unless something changes drastically over the next month, this is only beginning. The likelihood of any team playing with fans this season is low, especially in Georgia, where cases have been rising substantially in recent weeks. I do not think the NFL season is in jeopardy, but fans will likely have to wait until at least 2021 to watch the Falcons inside Mercedez-Benz Stadium.
