More than a handful of Falcons are dealing with injuries, but we did get some good news on a few players, among a flurry of roster moves.
Raheem Morris updated the Atlanta media yesterday, telling them Justin Simmons “should be back to his normal program” and Troy Andersen will be “progressing a little further” in practice this week.
The best news comes for Drew Dalman, who the Falcons have designated to return to practice, the club announced on Wednesday.
Atlanta’s starting center has been on the injured reserve since suffering an ankle injury in the Falcons’ Week 3 loss to the Chiefs. Ryan Nuezil took over for him against Kansas City and has started every game since.
This begins a 21-day window in which Dalamn must be activated to the 53-man roster or placed on the season-ending IR at the end of the three-week period.
The Falcons also churned the bottom of the roster, signing linebacker Tyreek Maddox-Williams to the practice squad. In a corresponding move, Atlanta released Matthew Cindric from the practice squad.
