According to Josina Anderson, the Falcons are among several teams that have shown preliminary interest in cornerback Tre Herndon, who last played for the Jaguars and will not return to Jacksonville.
I'm told the following teams have shown preliminary interest in #Jaguars CB Tre Herndon: The #Falcons, #49ers and #Giants, per league source.
I'm told Herndon is not returning to Jacksonville. We'll see how his market continues to unfold.

Herndon played most of his defensive snaps from the slot in 2022, and the Falcons have an obvious need for the position.
Isaiah Oliver is a free agent, and there’s no clear replacement on the roster. Herndon has carved out a nice career thus far after going undrafted in 2018. He registered 36 tackles, two tackles for a loss, a quarterback hit, five passes defended, and a forced fumble through 15 game appearances with the Jaguars last season.
The 27-year-old should be a popular target for teams that need a nickel cornerback because he won’t break the bank and can hold his own in the slot. The Falcons are clearly one of those clubs.
