On Monday’s press conference, Arthur Smith ruled Matt Hennessy out for the Falcons’ contest against the Panthers on Thursday Night Football.
Matt Hennessy won't be available to the Falcons this week for the Thursday night game vs. CAR. Will make further determinations on him in the future.

Atlanta recently placed Elijah Wilkinson on the injured reserve as he deals with a knee injury, and Hennessy got the nod at left guard against the Chargers last Sunday. It was a bag of mixed results in which the former center looked incompetent in pass protection and solid in the run game. Unfortunately, Hennessy was rolled up on in the red zone, injuring his lower body. On the team’s ensuing drive, he injured the same leg running out onto the field.
Colby Gossett actually got the start against the Seahawks in Week 3 when Wilkinson missed his first game due to a personal matter, but the staff went in Hennessy’s direction in Week 9 for some reason. Ultimately, Gossett replaced Hennessy anyways, and it looks like the veteran will get the nod in the Falcons Week 10 tilt against the Panthers.
