It is incredibly difficult to become a fan favorite of multiple teams as a center, but that is precisely what Alex Mack did throughout his career. His grit and effort made him easy to like, but Falcons fans have a little more reason to love Javon. During Atlanta’s magical Super Bowl run, in which Mack played a critical part, the Cal product toughed through the big game with a broken leg.
Football is one of the most physically demanding sports, and you hear stories all the time of players gutting through serious injuries during games. Still, a broken leg as an offensive lineman is unfathomable. Mack will always be a personal favorite of mine, and I’m sure many of you feel the same way. Friday, he penned a letter to the fans, former teammates and coaches of Cleveland, Atlanta, and San Francisco.
