The Falcons announced on Tuesday afternoon that T.J. Yates and Mario Jeberaeel would be joining Arthur Smith’s coaching staff.

Yates will be the team’s receivers coach, while Jeberaeel was named the assistant offensive line coach.
The former came to Atlanta last season as the Falcons’ pass game specialist, but it wasn’t his first stint with the team. Yates was once Matt Ryan‘s backup in 2014 and transitioned to coaching following the 2017 season. The Marietta native replaced David Brock, who was the last holdover from Dan Quinn’s staff.
In 2021, Jeberaeel served as the Falcons’ diversity coaching intern but has prior experience coaching the offensive line at Abilene Christian University. He primarily worked with the offensive line during his time as an intern, so it isn’t surprising to see him join the staff in a similar capacity.
The Falcons have also hired Steve Jackson as a senior offensive assistant, Shawn Flaherty as a football analyst, Steven King as the diversity coaching intern, and Nick Edwards as an offensive assistant.
