The Falcons are 1-0 for the first time in five years following their 14-point win over the Panthers. It wasn’t pretty, but wins are hard to come by in the NFL, and I know Arthur Smith isn’t apologizing for an ugly one.
They gear up for another home contest, this time hosting a much more formidable opponent in the Packers, who similarly dominated a division rival last week. Green Bay went to Chicago and dismantled the Bears.
Experts overwhelmingly chose Atlanta in Week 1 and the Falcons delivered. This week, the Falcons look like the underdogs. Let’s check out the expert picks:
ESPN
- Jeremy Fowler: Packers
- Kimberly Martin: Packers
- Lindsey Thiry: Packers
- Mike Clay: Packers
CBS Sports
- Pete Prisco: Packers
Sports Illustrated
- Albert Breer: Packers
- Connor Orr: Falcons

- Mark Kaboly: Packers
After the experts overwhelmingly picked the Falcons to win last week over the Panthers, they’re taking the road team in Week 2.
At the beginning of the week, Atlanta was a slight home underdog; however, as we get closer to Sunday, the line has flipped. The Falcons are about 1.5-point favorites, depending on the betting outlet.
I believe it’s because of injuries, which both squads are dealing with. Arthur Smith recently ruled out Troy Andersen, and Jeff Okudah is questionable. On the other side, the Packers could be without Aaron Jones and Christian Watson, who are both dealing with hamstring injuries.
Regardless, it should be an entertaining matchup on Sunday.
