Matt Ryan may be in the booth for CBS right now, but the former Falcons signal caller is clearly looking for an opportunity to return to the field.
According to Jay Glazier on Fox’s pregame show before the Sunday slate, Ryan has “reached out” to the Jets to offer his services. Carson Wentz was also included in Galzer’s report, but it seems the Jets gave them a “no thanks” response.
Veteran QBs Matt Ryan and Carson Wentz have both reached out to the #Jets expressing interest in joining the team, per @JayGlazer.

Aaron Rodgers made New York a Super Bowl contender, but a torn Achilles after just four snaps has pretty much ended any hope fans had for the club this year. Zach Wilson leads a pedestrian offense, which has put up 20 points in the last two weeks.
Wilson may give the Jets the best chance to win because of his relationships in the locker room and knowledge of the playbook, but it’s more of an indictment of the quarterbacks that are available.
Matt Ryan, Carson Wentz, or any other signal caller on the open market provides more distraction than solutions for the Jets. Though Ryan may want to return to the field, as he told The Athletic this summer, sometimes the NFL retires players before they’ve had a chance to do it themselves.
The Jets don’t have a ton of inspiring options at the quarterback position, but unfortunately for Matt Ryan, I don’t think he’s the best one. It might be time for Ryan to hang up his cleats for good. It’s probably better to do it on your own terms than continually get rejected by other clubs.
