The Falcons have completely reshaped their roster since Terry Fontenot took over for Thomas Dimitroff.
Grady Jarrett, Chris Lindstrom, Jake Matthews, A.J. Terrell, and Kaleb McGary are the only starters left over from the former regime. Fontenot has done an excellent job in free agency, spending Atlanta’s cap dollars efficiently.
Though there have been some gaffes in the draft, the Falcons GM has done an impressive job turning over the roster because a lot of those who departed when he took over haven’t found a ton of success with their new teams.
Matt Ryan and Julio Jones experienced virtually zero success. Dante Fowler has followed Dan Quinn from Dallas to now Washington, assuming a rotational role. Russell Gage inked a lucrative deal with the Bucs, but that deal didn’t work out how either had hoped.
Isaiah Oliver found some success out west with San Francisco, but the former second-round pick didn’t do enough to stick around with the Niners. He did do enough to pique the interest of a team in New York, though. According to Mike Garafolo, Oliver is inking a one-year deal with the Jets.
#Jets agreed to terms with CB Isaiah Oliver, source says. One-year deal.

He appeared in every game for the 49ers this past season, eventually working his way into the starting lineup for six games while compiling 67 tackles, an interception, two passes defended and a fumble recovery.
The former Falcons corner joins a stout New York defense that is looking to build off a season in which they carried the Jets team. Oliver will now be a part of that elite unit.
