Everyone is taking their turn ridiculing the Falcons for their handling of Kirk Cousins and Michael Penix Jr., but not Emmanuel Acho. He thinks the Falcons “have executed their quarterback situation to perfection.”
The Atlanta Falcons have executed their Quarterback situation to perfection, here are all the reasons why:

“This was a perfect situation and scenario for the Falcons,” said Acho, via Clint Goss of Sports Illustrated. “What bridge quarterbacks were you going to find that were going to have you at .500 (7-7) through 15 weeks? None. Aiden O’Connell, Gardner Minshew, they weren’t going to have you there. Drew Lock wasn’t going to have you there. Justin Fields on this Falcons roster, he wasn’t going to have you there.”
Acho isn’t wrong. O’Connell, Mishew, Lock, and Fields probably wouldn’t have led the Falcons to a 7-7 record, but they definitely could’ve gone 1-4 with one touchdown and nine interceptions over the last six weeks.
How about Russell Wilson or Sam Darnold, who is leading Kirk Cousins’ old team to a postseason berth and a potential division crown? Could they have got the Falcons to a .500 record through 14 games? The world may never know, but let’s not pretend Cousins isn’t leading the league in interceptions. The Falcons won in spite of Cousins on Monday Night Football against the Raiders. They lost to the Chargers because of him.
Acho is just willfully ignorant or purposefully being the contrarian. Any person with two eyes and a brain could acknowledge that it didn’t go according to plan. Perfectly? The Falcons paying Cousins $90 million for 14 games is perfect?
What in the hell is Acho even talking about?
