It’s been almost a month, but Eddie Rosario is set to make his Braves debut against the Giants. A little over an hour ago, the team announced he has been recalled from Gwinnett after his rehab assignment. In a corresponding move, Abraham Almonte has been designated for assignment.
The #Braves today returned OF Eddie Rosario from his rehabilitation assignment and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list. To make room on the active roster, the club designated OF Abraham Almonte for assignment.

Rosario was the first acquisition Alex Anthopoulos made on deadline day, but he’s been dealing with an abdominal strain. Before the injury, he was having a bit of a down year for the Indians, recording a .685 OPS over 78 games. However, he never posted an OPS below .792 in the four seasons prior.
Rosario will add more pop to the Braves bench and could end up starting more often than not. I imagine Brian Snitker will play the hot hand the rest of the way, and Rosario was certainly heating up before being called up. In his last seven games with the Stripers, he had four homers while recording a .290 average.
Welcome to Atlanta, Eddie Rosario!
