For the first time since John Abraham was terrorizing opposing quarterbacks in the Georgia Dome, the Falcons have a menacing pass rusher in Matthew Judon, who was acquired via trade yesterday.
New England received a third-round pick in exchange for Judon, and it’s a deal that has the entire fan base excited, something  fans have been expecting for a decade-plus, but it’s not only the fans that are excited. Falcons players are just as pumped to have a guy like Matthew Judon in the building.
Jessie Bates III and Drake London both praised the man and player Judon is going to be for the Falcons.
S Jessie Bates III says GM Terry Fontenot reached out to him and asked when he thought about Matthew Judon. Bates said Judon is a great player and a great person, as well. #Falcons

#Falcons WR Drake London on the team getting EDGE Matthew Judon: "The more pieces we can add, the better it’s gonna be. I can’t complain about any of that."

The only thing left to do this offseason is sign Justin Simmons, who is rumored to be within striking distance of a deal with Atlanta, and add to the cornerback room.
The Falcons have a top 10 offense on paper, and if those two things happen with Matthew Judon, the defense isn’t far behind. That’s the kind of roster that can challenge the top clubs in the league for a Super Bowl.
A lot will have to go right like Zac Robinson and Kirk Cousins figuring out the offense and Jimmy Lake’s defense, but this is a legit contender if the Falcons add a couple of more pieces to the secondary.
