Week 10 presents a unique challenge for the Atlanta Falcons against the New Orleans Saints.
Following their win over the Cowboys in Week 9, it looked like Raheem Morris’ club was going to travel to New Orleans and complete the season sweep of the Saints for the first time since 2016. They had just fallen to the lowly Panthers, and players were publically bashing Dennis Allen.
That all changed on Monday when Gayle Benson fired Allen. It’s clearly rejuvenated the organization. It’s a rivalry game in the Superdome, so it was always going to be a challenging trip for the Falcons, but this makes it that much more difficult.
Thankfully, it seems Raheem Morris isn’t letting his team sleepwalk into their Week 10 matchup. When speaking to the Atlanta media on Friday, Drake London acknowledged the elephant in the room.
“It’s a fresh start to them. Obviously, they didn’t want whoever was the head coach over there. You could kind of see by their social media presence and stuff like that so they probably going to have a lot more juice this week,” Drake London said about the firing of Dennis Allen.
I’ve already talked about it in more extensive detail; this club team has already sleepwalked into a game, which resulted in a 34-14 thrashing by the Seahawks, so there’s no reason to believe the Falcons are going to the Saints lightly.
It’s going to be a brawl on Sunday, and the Falcons clearly know what’s waiting for them in the Big Easy.
