After a slow start to the season, Drake London has become a force over the last couple of weeks. It continued in the Falcons‘ loss to the Commanders.
Last week against the Texans, the 8th overall pick from the 2022 NFL Draft recorded 78 yards on only six receptions against the Texans, including a huge catch on Atlanta’s game-winning drive that set up a go-ahead field goal for Younghoe Koo.
This week, London had the best game of his young Falcons career. He hauled in nine of 12 targets for 125 yards during Sunday’s 24-16 loss to the Commanders, setting career-highs in yards and receptions. He also made one of the most impressive catches we’ve seen from a Falcons player in quite some time.

This tops his Week 18 performance against the Buccaneers in which he netted six catches on eight targets for 120 yards. The only difference is Tampa Bay was resting their starters.
It resulted in PFF’s Team of the Week honors, joining Cooper Kupp and Tyreek Hill as wide receivers. The Falcons haven’t had much production from Kyle Pitts and Drake London since both were taken in the top 10 of their respective drafts, but they’re beginning to turn the corner it seems.
London has now put up 26 catches for 329 yards and two scores through six games but 203 of those yards and 15 of those receptions are from the last two weeks. Meanwhile, Pitts has accumulated 130 of 251 total yards and 11 of 22 total receptions in the last two weeks.
The Falcons need more production out of those two, but there are a lot of mouths to feed in this offense. Bijan Robinson still needs a fair amount of touches, and Jonnu Smith has turned the clock back. Don’t forget about Cordarrelle Patterson either.
This week it was about Drake London, though.
