Every offseason, a disgruntled NFL star becomes available, and the next one could attract the Falcons if the Packers are willing to trade Jaire Alexander.
The All-Pro corner had an injury-riddled season, and Alexander left Green Bay with a lot of unanswered questions… literally. According to Kelly Hallinan of NBC 26, the 27-year-old declined to speak to the media while clearing out his locker on Monday, adding that he didn’t have anything good to say, so he definitely wasn’t going to talk.
When Jaire Alexander was asked to speak with the media at locker room cleanout, he declined, saying he doesn’t even know if he is going to be here next year.

For the Packers, this isn’t a positive sign for their relationship with Jaire Alexander, who didn’t play on Sunday in the team’s Wild Card loss to the Eagles as he was on injured reserve.
In fact, the Packers were without their best defender for nearly half of the season, as Alexander missed the final seven games of the regular season with an injured PCL. The star cornerback signed a record-setting deal back in 2022 but has missed 21 games over the last two seasons.
There have been issues between the Packers and Alexander dating back to last season, with something as trivial as the cornerback walking out to a coin toss without being designated a captain leading to a one game suspension.
Injuries, attitude concerns, and his contract are all factors in the Packers potentially trading him. For the Falcons, he’s a two-time All-Pro cornerback who is one of the best in the business when healthy, but that’s just the thing. He has struggled to stay healthy since signing his record-breaking contract.
It seems like a clean break for both sides could be what’s best, and the Falcons still need to find a long-term running mate opposite of A.J. Terrell. Alexander’s contract would force Terry Fontenot to restructure, extend, or cut others to create cap space, but for a guy like Jaire Alexander, that’s a no-brainer.
