Darnell Mooney, Drake London are on a Hall-of-Fame pace in 2024

NFL: NOV 03 Cowboys at Falcons

The Falcons don’t even quietly have the best wide receiver duo in the NFL anymore. Drake London and Darnell Mooney are statistically the best pair of wideouts in the NFL.

The investment in Kirk Cousins has paid massive dividends for Atlanta’s other investments. The club’s top 10 draft picks, along with their $39 million free agent signing, have benefited greatly from the Falcons improved quarterback play.

In fact, there’s been such a dramatic improvement that London and Mooney are having Hall-of-Fame-esque campaigns. According to NFL senior researcher Dante Koplowitz-Fleming,  the Falcons wideout duo are on pace to join Colts duo Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne and Vikings duo Randy Moss and Cris Carter as the only wideout duos to be in the top 8 in receiving yards and touchdowns individually.

In 10 games, Mooney sits sixth in the NFL with 684 receiving yards and is tied for eighth with five touchdowns, while London has put up the eighth-most yards with 649 yards and tied for fourth with six touchdowns.

There are still seven games left for the Falcons duo to join those NFL legends, but there’s no reason to believe the production is going to taper off down the stretch. That’s the case for a few reasons.

Firstly, defenses can’t just key in on Mooney and London with Kyle Pitts and Bijan Robinson in the fold. Defensive coordinators must pick their poison. Secondly, Kirk Cousins and Zac Robinson are only going to improve the more games Cousins plays and Robinson coordinates. In fact, I could argue we haven’t even seen the best version of this Falcons offense.

Drake London and Darnell Mooney are a special one-two punch, the perfect complement to one another.
