On paper, the Falcons are outmatched by the Cowboys in most areas, but so are many other teams. Well, Atlanta might luck out with several key Cowboys starters in doubt to play Sunday. Tyron Smith, Dallas’ starting left tackle, didn’t practice Wednesday while rehabbing an ankle injury. There is an outside chance of Smith playing against the Falcons, but another lineman has already been ruled out.
Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) will have a "veteran Wednesday" with limited practice reps, Mike McCarthy said. WR Amari Cooper, DE Randy Gregory and RG Zack Martin in category, too.
LT Tyron Smith to rehab, not practice today. He is "making progress" from ankle injury.

Mike McCarthy told reporters Thursday that Randy Gregory will miss the Falcons game after suffering a calf injury.
#Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy told reporters that pass-rusher Randy Gregory could miss multiple weeks with a calf injury suffered in practice yesterday and IR is a possibility. More Micah Parsons on the edge.

Gregory could go on injured reserve, but he will surely miss Week 10, which is big news if you’re a Falcons fan. He’s had an impressive year under Dan Quinn — notching ten tackles, five sacks, 12 QB hits, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in seven games this year. The Falcons pass protection is below-average, so anything helps.
Dallas will be without their top two pass rushers in the DeMarcus Lawrence, who has been on injured reserve for some time, and Gregory. Quinn will have to rely on Dorance Armstrong, Tarell Basham, Chauncey Golson, and Micah Parsons to pressure Matt Ryan.
