In MLBPipeline’s latest Mock Draft, Jim Callis name drops a few players the Braves have talked to leading up to the 2022 MLB Draft.
Maybe it's time to take a Holliday!!
In our latest mock draft, a high-schooler (maybe not the one you expected) is taken with the first pick.

In this Mock Draft, Callis has the Braves taking Oregon State Lefty Cooper Hjerpe:
The Braves get linked to several college pitchers, including Hjerpe, Campbell, Gonzaga right-hander Gabriel Hughes and Campbell righty Thomas Harrington.
We’ve seen the Braves heavily target college talent in the draft, especially pitchers. This strategy has paid dividends recently; Bryce Elder and Spencer Strider have both made quick impacts, Jared Shuster is ascending through the minors, and Ryan Cusick was a big piece of the Matt Olson trade. I had the Braves taking Tennessee arm Blade Tidwell, but one thing’s for sure, they’ve done their homework on college pitching.
