The hype train for Michael Harris II continues to gain steam. After taking home the Rookie of the Year award last year, he’s primed to compete for MVPs, and Chipper Jones couldn’t be more bullish on who he called a superstar.
Chipper Jones, who is at Braves camp, said when he saw MIchael Harris coming up, he thought he was a left-handed Ronald Acuña Jr.
“Michael Harris is a superstar, no ifs, ands or buts about it," Jones said of Harris, who grew up a diehard Braves fan.

Coming from a Hall of Famer, former MVP, and one of the greatest third basemen in history, Chipper Jones’s praise is a high mark.
Harris skipped AAA and completely turned the club around when he arrived. At the time of his debut, the Braves boasted a 22-24 record; they’d go on to win 101 games, and multiple players attributed the team’s turnaround to his emergence.
Playing for his hometown team is a dream, and Braves Country has already fallen in love with Michael Harris after his spectacular first season. Across 114 games, he slashed .297/.339/.514 with 19 long balls, good for an .853 OPS, while driving in 64 runs and swiping 20 bags.
What’s even more amazing is his physical talent. He was already the most athletic player on the team last year, and he’s only developing more as he grows into his body. The sky is the limit for a talent like Michael Harris II.
