The Georgia Bulldogs haven’t lost a regular-season game since the 2020 season when they faced off against the Florida Gators, who they will face this weekend in one of the best rivalry games in college football.
That will begin the Bulldogs’ toughest four-week stretch of the entire season. To this point, Georgia has been able to skate by unscathed, but they haven’t looked nearly as dominant on both sides of the ball as they did in 2021 and 2022. This is as gettable as Georgia has been in quite some time, and the task will only be tougher as they embark on this stretch without arguably the best player in college football in Brock Bowers.
Bowers suffered an ankle injury in the Bulldogs win over Vandy. He immediately exited and never returned. It was later revealed that he would have to undergo TightRope surgery, which typically takes 4-6 weeks to recover from. Given what he stands to lose with the 2024 NFL Draft approaching, it’s highly unlikely he makes a return before the end of the regular season, leaving first-year starting quarterback Carson Beck without his best weapon against Florida, Missouri, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.
On the latest episode of SportsTalkATL, we discuss the injury to Bowers and whether the Bulldogs can remain undefeated on their way to the SEC Championship without him.
